Greetings from Murrysville,

We are in the midst of our third back to back snow storm, which collectively have   dumped about four and a half feet of snow in this area, not to mention the drifting snow, and it is still coming down.  With such low temperatures we can be sure that it will not disappear any time soon. It has been unbelievable! Nevertheless, we cannot complain, for it is coming from the hand of Almighty God and it is being used for His holy purposes.      

Job 38:22, “Have you entered the treasury of snow or seen the treasury of hail which I have reserved for the time of trouble, for the day of battle and war?” (Judgment)  Please read this entire chapter in the Book of Job.

Honestly I am so tired of hearing about what “Mother Nature” is doing and how this is a result of “Global Warming”.  I pray that Abba will continue to expose all of the fraudulent nonsense, which is exactly what it has been, and expose those who have espoused such rhetoric for who and what they truly are.  How many people, Christians included, have been deceived by such nonsense!  It is shameful!  It is costing the American tax payers millions of dollars needlessly.  

I find it interesting that Al Gore has suddenly become MIA (missing in action).   He has taken the millions that he made from this scam and split.  I wonder if the Southern Baptists, who had him as the key note speaker at their convention, introducing him as the “Baptist Prophet,” have apologized for choosing to work with him to save the earth as opposed to working with Abba to save lost souls?   

Senator James Inhofe and his family built an igloo in front of the Capitol building.  They posted a sign over it saying, “Al Gore’s New Home”.  Senator Jim DeMint said, “It will continue to snow until Al Gore cries ‘uncle’.     

Hopefully more and more Americans will awaken to the truth of what has been happening in this country as they have slumbered, and repent and turn back to Almighty God.  If not, horrid problems and natural disasters will continue, back to back, and increase in intensity, the likes of which we’ve never seen. 

Yahweh will be made known in the storms, mudslides, fires, tornados, hurricanes and earthquakes.  “He’s got the whole world in His Hands!”  Praise His Name!

Bill Wilson writes, “After the Lord God destroyed the earth with the great flood, He said in His heart, as recorded in Genesis 8:21,22 “I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite every living thing, as I have done.  While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease”.    This is a promise from God that He will not again destroy the earth as in the days of Noah.  He outlines what He will not do.  He says, “while the earth remains, ….. cold and heat shall not cease”.

“Jesus said that the latter days would be times of deception.  “Take heed that no man deceive you!” (Matthew 24:4)  Four times in this chapter He warns us not to be deceived.  We are told that deception can come from many areas of society such as, from men in general, from those claiming to be the Christ, from those in the Church coming in His Name and from false prophets.  False prophets can be either those in the Church or those who are secular.  “And many false prophets shall arise and deceive many!”  (Matthew 24:11).

“Now the headline is blast like hot air around the globe from the world’s most prestigious and highly regarded research center on global warming and climate change – the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit – that there has been no global warming since 1995.  Indeed, the men in charge of the scientific studies of global warming and climate change are now admitting that they falsified data, made it up, and once exposed, tried to destroy the so-called scientific research.  These “scientists” have now been accused of “scientific fraud”.  In fact, the disgraced professor who headed up the global warming research, Phil Jones, now says that it may have been warmer in medieval times than today.                       

“So what of Al Gore, who has made millions on the global warming fraud?  Or of the man who occupies the Oval Office, who said in his State of the Union address: “I know there are those who disagree with the overwhelming scientific evidence on climate change.  But here’s the thing – even if you doubt the evidence, providing incentives for energy efficiency and clean energy are the right things to do for our future.” The politicians want a global society and that was what was at the political bottom of the global warming frenzy.  

The Bible has the answers!  Just as it told us that God would not destroy the earth by cold or heat, II Timothy 3:13 says, “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse, deceiving and being deceived.”    

Storms of Life

I just finished reading two passages of Scripture concerning storms that Yeshua and His disciples found themselves in the midst of.  During the first of these two storms, Yeshua was in the boat with the disciples but He was fast asleep.  He was in such a sound sleep that the storm didn’t waken Him.  However, as the winds increased and the water began to crash over the side of the boat, the disciples began to panic.  They awakened Yeshua, calling on Him to save them.  He got up right away and rebuked the wind and water, which brought about a real calm.

If you’ve ever spent time along the Sea of Galilee, you know that storms come up very quickly, as out of nowhere.  They can be severe, but not too severe for Yeshua.   He didn’t need a rod like Moses, or a mantle like Elijah to deal with the water.  His only instrument of power was His spoken Word.  He simply rebuked the wind and sea to bring calm, and rebuked the disciples for their fearfulness and lack of faith.  You see, they had not yet learned that a storm tossed ship cannot sink with Yeshua on board.  Fear, for the moment, had paralyzed their faith.  Fear and faith simply do not mix. 

Let’s all keep that in mind when the restless, sinful world comes crashing in on us, and persecution against us is great.   In the midst of our storms, we cannot sink if Yeshua is in our boat. 

When the disciples found themselves in the second storm, they were in a boat headed for the other side of the Sea of Galilee.  Yeshua had sent them on ahead, while He went up into the mountains alone to pray.  While He was in prayer, a violent wind arose and swept down through the barren hills.  This told Him that His disciples would surely run in to trouble.  He looked out and saw that their ship was in the middle of the sea being tossed in the waves.  Because the wind was so contrary, they had to take down the sail, and use the oars.  A ship can make very little headway against strong wind, which was the reason why they were still in the middle of the sea at the fourth watch of the night, making no progress at all.  We’re told that they were “distressed in rowing”. 

What the disciples didn’t know was that Yeshua, in His prayer retreat on the mountain top, saw them in their darkest hour of need.  He was watching over them and would soon join them in their struggle.  However, when He came to them, He came in a way that they did not expect Him to come.  He came walking on the water as though it were a soft, smooth carpet.  He was almost on top of them before they saw Him approaching.  The waves were still high and it was almost daylight.  They simply saw a figure with a robe fluttering in the wind, treading upon the waves, and they cried out in fear.  However, Yeshua very quickly reassured them, “It is I! Be not afraid!”  When they heard His voice, they lost their fear, and when He stepped into the boat, immediately the winds ceased and they found themselves on shore. 

Like the disciples of old, our faith is tested in the storms of life.  When we are struggling, He is ever near.  It might seem as though He has forgotten us, but truly He has not!  His eye is always upon us, and in His time, when He has accomplished in us what needed to be accomplished, He will undertake for us in a marvelous way.  We are not in control of the timing, the severity or duration of the storms that come into our life, God is!  Through them He is building within us the strength and ability to endure, and He will always bring us through!  Hallelu Yah!

Note:  Janet Wilker has just returned from the Ukraine and Donna Super has just returned from Uganda.  Both girls have asked me to convey to all of you their   gratefulness for the excellent prayer covering they received while on mission.  Both were very fruitful missions.  To God be the glory!  

Boynton Beach, Florida – Anti-Christian hostility is becoming deadly here in the U.S.  Gary Cass, of the Anti-Defamation Commission said that the increasing demonization of Christians in our culture make some feel that it is open season on Christians.  He made this remark after Tite Sufra (24) and Stephen Ocean (23) were shot dead on the street after sharing the Gospel with a young man (18) who apparently did not like the message.  They were hit with a shot gun blast at point blank range and then one of them was shot in the head, execution style, after he had fallen to the ground.  Mr Cass complained that there was no interest in the national media over the vicious murder of these two fine young Christian men.  He described this case as “an ominous sign” of times “that Christians are being shot on the streets and in our churches”.  Last year Jim Pullion was murdered holding a Pro-Life sign in Owasso, Michigan and Pastor Fred Winters was murdered while preaching in the pulpit in Maryville, Illinois.           

 Richmond, CA. – Two teens, one 14 and one 19, were wounded during the Sunday morning service at Gethsemane Church of God in Christ.  There were approximately 100 persons gathered together for worship inside the church when three gunmen wearing hooded sweatshirts entered and began shooting.  Both young victims were hospitalized and are expected to recover.  The people were stunned!  The Pastor’s daughter said, “I can’t believe this happened in my church! This has been a safe haven for so many people.  To try to destroy this is unbelievable!” As of this writing, the shooters have not yet been apprehended. 

East Texas – Ten church buildings have been burned and in Central Texas – one has been burned.  Abba had said that persecution of Christians was going to increase and become fierce as we entered 2010.  It has well begun.

Burma – Over seventy houses, a mobile house clinic and two schools in Eastern Burma have been burned down by army patrols stepping up an offensive against Christian Keren villagers.  These Christians have been targeted for a long time.  Over 2,000 are still in hiding after the attacks upon them in January.  Christianity in Burma is seen as a threat to the military power base in that country.

India – In New Delhi, Hindu militants halted a Christian birthday celebration and prayer meeting, attacking an evangelical pastor who was involved in the festivities.  They accused him of trying to forcibly convert non-Christians to Christianity.  On his way home from the birthday party, 50 Hindu militants attacked him and abused him.  They forced him to swallow food that had been offered to Hindu gods against his will.  Police came but did nothing.

Nigeria – At least two pastors and 46 Christians were killed after a day of clashes with Muslims.  The house where one Christian family lived was set on fire by their Muslim neighbors while the family was sleeping.  Only the mother’s life was spared in that family of five.

Pakistan – Christians in Punjab Province are searching for a place to worship after Muslim militants, armed with clubs and iron rods, attacked their partially constructed church building, injuring scores of worshippers, at least 65 of them.  They destroyed their Bibles and prayer books as well.  Apparently they were angered because the building was being built on a small piece of land given to the Christians by the government.              

India – Hindu extremists burned down a church, after dousing it with several gallons of kerosene oil, in Andhra Pradesh causing serious injuries to the pastor in his attempts to put out the fire.  The fire destroyed church furniture, carpets, electrical wires, fans, a lectern, song books, prayer books and Bibles.  The pastor was rushed to a local hospital because he sustained third degree burns all over his body after his unsuccessful attempt to extinguish the flames.  As of this writing he is still hospitalized and those who did all of this damage still have not been apprehended. 

China – In Beijing, a human rights lawyer has been missing for one full year.  Based on official statements and inside reports, he is still alive but suffering incredible torture in Chinese detention in an unknown location.  This brother has represented and fought hard for the Persecuted Church and advocated constitutional reform.  This is not the first time he has been arrested and tortured unmercifully.  It has happened before but not for such a long period of time.  His wife and children have since escaped and come to America.  His daughter has had to be hospitalized due to stress concerning all that her father is going through.         

Note:  I could go on and on sharing one case after the other, but I believe that I have shared enough with you to show you that war truly has been declared on Christians here at home and abroad, and we must pray much for one another.  We are all brothers and sisters in the Body of Messiah.  Abba has no favorites!

It seems as though I am always running out of space, so before I do, I just want to thank all of you for your love, your prayers and your support.  Thank you for all of your cards, letters, emails, and phone calls.  We find a tremendous amount of   strength and encouragement in them.

I can recall in 1975 when the Lord called me in to the ministry, I accepted His call to the ministry, but I told Him then that I would go wherever He told me to go, do whatever He told me to do and speak whatever He would give me to speak, but I would never beg for the money to do so.  Praise His Name!  He has been faithful!  Fair Havens Missions is a 501 C-3 tax exempt, non-profit ministry dedicated solely to the plans and purposes of Almighty God.
